Pavlova Recipe

Pavlova is a cake made from egg whites. This cake has a crispy outer crust and is soft and chewy from inside. Pavlova is often accompanied with whipped cream and fruit. I can't say much about Pavlova except that you will be waxing lyrical the minute you taste it.

Ingredients:                                                                     Preparation time: 30 min          
                                                                                        Baking time: 2 hours
                                                                                        Calories in 1 serving: 272
                                                     8 Egg Whites
Pinch Salt
325g Sugar
2 Tbsp Corn Flour
Pinch Cream of tarter
1 Tbsp White Vinegar


Step 1
Pre heat oven to 100 C. Cut a round disc about 10 inch out of a grease proof paper and place it on an oven tray.

Step 2
 Place whites in a mixing bowl with a pinch of salt .Start beating at low speed gradually increasing
until stiff. Gradually add sugar 1 tbsp at a time mixing for a few seconds until all sugar is added.

Now with the help of a spatula fold in the cornflour add vanilla cream of tartar and vinegar.

Step 4
Now place the mixture on the prepared disc, even out the sides and bake for about 2 hrs until crisp on the outer side. After the cake is done leave the oven door ajar for another hour.
Remove from oven, let cool.

Step 5
Beat 600ml cream with sugar to taste. Top on the pavlova with fruit of your choice and pavlova is ready to serve.
