With temperatures scorching high above the average in most parts of the world, keeping cool should be the top priority. It is thus essential to maintain optimal hydration levels of the body at all times.
Nothing could be better to beat the summer heat than a well-crafted drink that is not only cooling but is armed with digestion  enhancing properties.

The drink recipe that I am about to share with you today is of jal zeera. Jal zeera or jaljeera is  an Indian summer drink made with tamarind as the main ingredient, along with other spices and herbs. This drink improves appetite, cools you down and fires up the digestive process. A perfectly tantalizing drink to quench your thirst with gusto.

The digestive and cooling properties of jal zeera are attributed to the herbs and spices used in it. Tamarind the main ingredient of jal zeera is a powerful antioxidant and helps maintain the electrolyte balance of the body, owing to the presence of  copper,  potassium, calcium and magnesium.

Mint is also used in the recipe and it has digestive properties of its own. The cumin used in the drink is loaded with minerals and has carminative properties.
Let's start the recipe by gathering some ingredients which are as follows:

Ingredients:
1tbsp tamarind pulp (soaked in 1 cup of water)
3 cups water
3/4 cup water
2 tbsp dried ginger powder
1 tsp cumin
1/4 cup chopped mint leaves
pinch black pepper
black salt to taste (optional)

Step 1:
Take a blender add one cup water with mint add black pepper.
soaked tamarind pulp, cumin and ginger powder, blend.

Step 2:

Pour in the soaked tamarind pulp with sugar, ginger powder and cumin. Blend, till all the ingredients are fully incorporated.

 Step 3:
Strain into serving glasses through a sieve to separate the residue from the liquid.

                                                  Serve chilled.

Additional Notes:
I personally don't like the sulphide like the smell of black salt so I don't use it, but you can if you don't have any issues with the smell.
Usage: Use as an appetiser in between meals or drink to quench thirst. I hope you like this recipe. Thanks for stopping by! hopefully, you will come back again.
