High Heel Cupcakes Recipe

Last time when I paid a visit to my Ami (mother), she was bedridden because of a broken femur. I felt very sorry for her knowing that she loved high heels and had worn them all her life.

So I thought why not make her some high heel cupcakes, at least she will cheer up a bit. I knew that the cupcakes would definitely make her happy but didn't know that finding the ingredients would become a task in itself.

I don't know why but I had a hard time finding the pirouette cookies. So I had to use some marzipan for making the high heels. For the sole you can use graham crackers or milano cookies. I have used yogurt filled cookies. I really had a hard time fixing the marzipan heel to the sole. The final look seemed a bit distorted but after several trials and tribulations I managed to create a couple of stiletto cupcakes.

I know they are not as good as some artistic hands would have created but being able to make beautiful things with your hands and creativity is a gift of God that I don't have. Usually I bake Sachertorte for her which she really likes, this was the first time I had made shoe cupcakes. After the cupcakes were ready, I took them to my mother, she picked one up and smiled at me. I smiled back at her and said " don't worry Ami you will wear high heels soon but in the meantime you can enjoy these high heel cupcakes"

IngredientsQuantity
cupcakes baked in liners of your choice12
graham crackers or milano cookies12
marzipan 300g
neon sugaras needed
vanilla frosting colour correlating with the shoe style400g
pastel pearls or other embellishmentsas needed
food colours for colouring matching with the shoe stylefew drops

I have used chocolate cupcakes but you can use any flavour you like.

Divide the marzipan into 12 equal parts for the heels. Colour the marzipan into the matching shoe colour and roll as seen in the picture. I have a pink and blue pair of heels for each pair of stiletto shoes.

Cut the cookies about half an inch from the start as shown in the picture. You can add some definition with the help of coloured icing of your choice.

Ice the cupcakes according to your liking.

Make a small slit in each cupcake at an angle to fit the sole. Now push the sole into the slit that you made in the cupcake. Place a dollop of icing on the heel and push it onto the sole also place a dollop of icing on the serving plate to support the heel this will make it easier to transport.

Finally decorate with decorative sugar, or pastel pearls. These high heel cupcakes are perfect for a bachelorette party, birthday party or high tea.

I hope you will make high heel cupcakes and enjoy making them as much as I did.
